Günther von Sarno has caused a sensation in his new role as the creative leader at Gucci through the Marina Chain jewelry collection campaign. And Daria Werbowy, the model from Canada and Ukraine who retired from the fashion industry in 2016, is the ideal selection to showcase the line.
The collection is influenced by the ocean, designed for the contemporary enchantress. The images, captured by David Sims, feature Daria enjoying a luxurious leisure time at the renowned Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles.
Gucci Marina Chain Jewelry 2023 Campaign
Daria is depicted adorned in bikini bottoms embellished with Gucci’s iconic interlocking G and gold jewelry that mirrors the nautical influence. The jewelry consists of a necklace inspired by an anchor chain, a bracelet, and an oversized sculptural earring.
She not only returns as a model but also as an enduring muse. Von Sarno adds a symbolic element by sharing a throwback photo of himself with Daria from 2003 on Instagram, evoking a sense of shared history and development in the fashion world. This campaign follows the brand’s fall 2023 campaign featuring Vittoria Ceretti and a novel range of autumn eyewear.
The Gucci Marina Chain campaign unfolds at the poolside, with the expertise of stylist Alastair McKimm. Riccardo Zanola oversees the artistic direction, while Ezra Petronio and Lana Petrusevych serve as art directors.
Setting the stage for what’s to come, the Marina Chain collection acts as a preview of von Sarno’s initial ready-to-wear line for the brand, which will debut during Milan Fashion Week for spring 2024.
