Russell & Bromley targets affluent neighborhoods for new store locations
The change in shopping habits towards more local shops has compelled Russell & Bromley to reconsider its retail strategy, as it starts focusing on prosperous suburbs throughout London and elsewhere.
According to Chief executive Andrew Bromley’s conversation with The Times, the company intends to establish upcoming stores in “neighborhood” settings.
He noted that shopping in major city streets and shopping centers has decreased in recent years due to the impact of the pandemic.
“Chelsea, for instance, has become more prominent as people are shopping nearer to home and within their local area”.
As part of an effort to reach more “local” areas, Russell & Bromley inaugurated a new branch in Canary Wharf in east London in March.
The footwear retailer also commenced its initial overseas store on Dublin’s Grafton Street in May, with additional stores in other cities in Europe and America slated to come.
