The Hunt for the Next Fashion Designer Begins Nationwide in Fresh ITV Series
Embarking on a nationwide quest, M&S initiates the search for their upcoming designer through an exciting competitive television show.
Scheduled for the Fall debut, the ITV show will exhibit the comprehensive journey as 10 competitors compete for the chance to become an in-house junior designer at the renowned fashion brand.
Across a span of six episodes, the contenders will be challenged with various tasks that evaluate their design, problem-solving, business acumen, and teamwork abilities.
M&S has indicated that each task will mirror their design and product development processes, encompassing activities from gathering insights and identifying key product trends to crafting and refining unique products.
The company has shown interest in candidates with innovation, a hunger for learning, and a love for design, stressing that formal fashion qualifications or training are not obligatory.
Contestants will be stationed in a custom-designed studio and will be judged by a panel of M&S senior executives, alongside an array of celebrity guests and designers, with hosts AJ Odudu and Vernon Kay.
Anna Braithwaite, the Marketing Director for Clothing and Home at M&S, remarked, “The United Kingdom showcases some of the most exceptional emerging design talents globally, and we are eager to discover these individuals.”
“We are searching for the next generation of designers who can enrich M&S’ fashion legacy and develop original products that captivate not only our existing clientele but also attract those who may not have previously considered us.”
“Following the positive feedback from our customers during the behind-the-scenes glimpse of our Christmas delivery, we are excited to unveil the inner workings of our Clothing & Home design process for the first time through this exhilarating new show format.”
“It is set to be a vibrant, innovative, and pleasurable experience – and for the winner, a unique opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry’s finest to create collections that will be embraced by many.”
